Whop for HVAC Contractors: Financing on the Replacement Quote

A personal note from Dennis

I want you to see who is behind this recommendation.

I’m Dennis Yu. If I’m asking an HVAC contractor to make a money-and-systems decision, a fee table and a company logo are not enough. You should be able to see the people I know, the team I bring, and the work we do together.

Aden Trano, Whop’s Head of Services, and I spent three days together at the Sphere Rocket Open in Frisco. My team built his personal site. Jack Allard was there running our agents between conversations. Cam Hazzard and Dylan Haugen teach alongside me on stage. These are working relationships, not stock photos or borrowed endorsements.

If Whop is the right fit, come in through me. You pay the same price, and my team will help you think through the setup with the worksheets and review path on this page.

The replacement quote closes when the monthly number is on it.

An HVAC changeout is one of the largest unplanned purchases a household makes, and the homeowner decides with the old unit dead in July. Whop puts a financing option on the checkout link you send with the quote, pays you in full upfront on nearly every provider, and handles service-call invoices and Tap to Pay on the same account.

What you pay to get paid: today versus Whop, on your own numbers

$35,200card fees per year at your rate today
$32,800card fees per year on Whop at 2.7% + 30¢
$2,400difference per year, before any optional layer
$9,876you keep upfront on a $12,000 financed job at the worst case Whop describes (15% plus 2.7% + 30¢, fee $2,124)

Base rates only: Stripe 2.9% + 30¢, Whop 2.7% + 30¢. Whop’s optional layers (managed tax 2%, orchestration 0.8%, billing 0.5%) are not included and can push the stack above Stripe. The financed-job line uses the fee Whop’s own BNPL post states; Whop’s docs describe a reserve instead, so confirm the per-provider cost before you price it into a job. Instant payouts, disputes and international cards are extra on both.

Same Whop pricing as going direct. No contract, no markup. Whop pays our founder a partner share out of its own margin; you pay nothing extra. Already decided on Whop? Why signing up through us costs nothing and adds a team. Run an agency or a platform? Become a Whop Partner under us.

What Whop gives you

What Whop gives an HVAC company

Financing at the estimate

Buy-now-pay-later through Whop’s financing partners: Klarna, Afterpay, Sezzle, Splitit up to $20,000 with no credit check, ClarityPay up to $30,000 over 36 months, Climb up to $42,750. The customer applies on the checkout link; on nearly every provider the business is paid in full upfront.

Invoices, checkout links, Tap to Pay

Send an invoice with a due date and automatic follow-ups, drop a checkout link in a text for a deposit or a change order, or take a card on-site with Tap to Pay on iPhone, no reader.

Maintenance plans as subscriptions

Sell the annual tune-up plan as a recurring subscription with billing, reminders and access handled by Whop, instead of a spreadsheet and a phone call every spring.

Sits beside your field-service app

Whop is not Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan. It does not dispatch, estimate or do your books. It is the checkout, the financing desk and the invoice tool you put next to them, starting with the estimate link.

Card processing at 2.7% + 30¢

Domestic card rate with no monthly fee; enterprise rates from 2.5% + 30¢. Stripe is 2.9% + 30¢. The gap is real and small; the mechanism above is the reason to move.

Scale: about $4 billion a year

Roughly 22 million users, about $4 billion in annual commerce, and a $1.6 billion valuation after Tether’s $200 million investment in February 2026.

The mechanism

Why the financing option belongs on the quote, not in the follow-up call

HVACR Trends called it the $339,000 financing problem sitting in every contractor proposal: the replacement jobs that die because the homeowner could not say yes to the total. The studies FinMkt collected in June 2026 say the same thing from the other side: close rates rise from a 25% baseline to 44% when multiple financing options are offered, and homeowners on a payment plan spend 44% more.

STEP 1 Replacement quote as a link The monthly option is on it; deposit on the same link STEP 2 Homeowner applies on their phone While the tech is still in the house STEP 3 You are paid upfront Equipment order funded; provider carries the balance
STEP 1 Replacement quote as a link The monthly option is on it; deposit on the same link STEP 2 Homeowner applies on their phone While the tech is still in the house STEP 3 You are paid upfront Equipment order funded; provider carries the balance
The replacement quote on Whop: option on the link, decision in the house, paid before the unit ships.

On Whop the option is on the link itself. Once you are approved, every checkout link shows the providers you chose, the homeowner applies on their phone while the tech is still in the house, and you are paid the full amount upfront on nearly every provider. ClarityPay goes to $30,000 over 36 months, Climb to $42,750 over five years, Splitit to $20,000 on the customer’s existing card with no credit check.

Service calls run on the same account: an invoice with a due date and automatic follow-ups, or Tap to Pay on the tech’s iPhone at the door. Nothing about your dispatch or your books changes.

What it looks like day to day

  • Replacement quote goes out as a link with the monthly option on it.
  • Deposit on the same link; the equipment order is funded before it ships.
  • Service calls: Tap to Pay at the door or an invoice that chases itself.
  • Tune-up plan: a subscription that renews without a spring phone campaign.

Each link is our retelling of Whop’s own write-up, with only the numbers Whop published and what we would tell a peer to copy. All 52 stories, by industry, are at dennisyu.com/whop.

  • Chopmen Tree Service. 0% down, up to $30,000, 36 months through ClarityPay, offered on the written quote; the crew is paid upfront.
  • Pinnacle NW Kitchen and Bath. 300-plus bathrooms; invoices with automatic follow-ups, deposits and change orders by checkout link, Tap to Pay at the job site, Klarna and Afterpay on big jobs.
  • VIIIZUTech. A one-man European car shop that invoices by email and takes Tap to Pay on iPhone with no card reader.
  • iTK9. 2,500-plus dogs trained; the checkout link goes out minutes after the sales call, with Splitit financing on the same link.

What it costs

Fees, the financing gate, and the one number Whop has not confirmed

Whop’s base rate is 2.7% + 30¢ per card transaction with no monthly fee, 20 basis points under Stripe’s 2.9% + 30¢. Optional layers cost extra and only if you switch them on: managed sales tax 2%, payment orchestration 0.8%, billing automation 0.5%, affiliate payout processing 1.25%. International cards add 1.5% and currency conversion 1%. Disputes are $15. Instant payouts are 4% + $1; next-day ACH is $2.50. Turn on every layer and the stack costs more than Stripe, so read your own statement before you believe anyone’s savings pitch, including ours.

Financing is not on by default. Whop requires a verified Whop Payments account, a complete store page, a dispute rate under 2% over 90 days, and $30,000 processed from ten or more customers in the last 90 days, or 90 days of statements from your previous processor. It is not available to gambling, sports betting, trading signals, credit offers or adult categories.

On what financing costs the business, Whop’s own pages disagree. Its February 26, 2026 buy-now-pay-later post says the BNPL fees are 15% plus Whop’s processing fees, and in the same post that you receive the full payment upfront minus standard processing fees; its financing documentation lists no per-provider merchant fee and describes Splitit’s 15% as a reserve returned after 180 days. We have asked Whop for the per-provider number in writing. Until then, model a financed job at 15% plus 2.7% + 30¢ and treat anything better as upside.

The bonus

What we add when you sign up through our founder’s link

HVAC Spotlight is built by the team behind Local Service Spotlight. Our founder, Dennis Yu, is a Whop Partner: Whop pays him a share of its profit on every business that signs up through his link, and that share funds the work we normally charge HVAC companies for.

Personal brand analysis

A scored inventory of your relationships, proof, content and reputation, with the exact next moves. The same document Dennis built for Whop’s own Head of Services.

Digital plumbing

Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, Search Console and the Whop pixel installed and verified, with conversion events that actually fire, so you can see which dollar rang the phone.

Content Factory

One recording becomes a definitive article, short clips and posts that point to one page you own.

Agents that keep it running

We set up the AI agents that audit your public reputation, fix what they find, and produce a weekly Metrics, Analysis, Action report after we hand it off.

For an HVAC company that means the Google Business Profile, reviews and job photos a homeowner checks before they call, a canonical page per service (replacement, repair, maintenance plan) with real jobs and the financing option on it, and the tracking that shows which dollar booked the call.

Bonus applies to new Whop businesses created through the link that process real payments. Sign up, take your first payment, then email us and we schedule the work.

Honest limits

Who this is not for

If your payments are wired into ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro or Jobber and you already offer financing through them at a rate you have checked, the switch is not worth it; use Whop only if your app cannot put financing on the estimate. If you do under $30,000 in any 90-day window you cannot offer financing yet; start with links and invoices and qualify.

How it works

Three steps

  1. Create your Whop business through the link. whop.com/start/?a=thedennisyu. Attribution is recorded at signup; your pricing is unchanged. If you already have a Whop account, email us the business name first and we submit the referral by hand so it is not lost.
  2. Take your first payment. Invoice, checkout link, or Tap to Pay on iPhone.
  3. Email dennis@dennisyu.com with the subject “I signed up for Whop through Dennis” and your Whop business URL. We schedule the bonus within one week.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to leave Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan? No. Keep your field-service app for scheduling, estimating and the books. Use Whop for the estimate link with financing, deposits and change orders by checkout link, and Tap to Pay. Move more only when you have a reason.

Who carries the risk if a financed customer stops paying? The provider, on nearly every option: Whop’s documentation says ClarityPay and Sezzle have no recourse to the merchant, and you were paid upfront. Splitit holds a 15% reserve for 180 days. Whop’s BNPL post separately cites a 15% fee plus processing; get the per-provider cost in writing.

Can I offer financing from day one? No. You need $30,000 processed from ten or more customers in 90 days and a dispute rate under 2%, or 90 days of statements from your previous processor. Start with checkout links and invoices and qualify.

Does going through the link cost more? No. Whop’s pricing is identical. Whop pays partners a share of its own profit on referred businesses; that share is what funds the bonus.

Which financing providers fit an HVAC ticket? ClarityPay ($500 to $30,000, up to 36 months, or 0% to $15,000 over 18 months) and Climb (up to $42,750 over five years) cover replacements; Splitit ($20,000, no credit check, on the customer’s card) and Klarna ($10,000, 24 months) cover repairs and smaller jobs. You choose which show on each link.
